Patterning based on point distance in Grasshopper

I found this tutorial very helpful as it shows how to begin to create scaled patterns. These scaled patterns will represent the formation bats may have on a certain surface and their system of overlapping each other on certain areas they can all grip on easier. I am hoping to form this into a model that is convexed in shape to represent how they form up on curved surfaces.

Bats choose a variety of diurnal roosts, although the roost requirements of many bats, which are rather precise in terms of light, temperature, and humidity, limit their distribution. Each species favours a particular kind of roost, though this varies with sex, season, and reproductive activity. Many bats prefer isolated or secure roosts—caves, crevices in cliff faces, the interstices of boulder heaps, tree hollows, animal burrows, culverts, abandoned buildings, portions of buildings inaccessible to humans or infrequently accessed by them (i.e., a roof, attic, or hollow wall), or the hollow core of bamboo stalks.

By themselves the shapes a bat forms isn't very significant until they form up side by side. Together they roost without leaving a gap, no matter how jagged the surface is or how much a surface can protrude out.

SEAWEED

What is interesting about seaweed is that the water around it affects the movement, causing it to move in a wavy motion . Seaweed is supple and strectchy which can reduce the drag to help it flow with the current.


ROAD SYSTEM















This road system was built to circle downwards to guide vehicles through an area. What I find interesting is that everything on this system has to travel in a spiral motion.
